SEO What?
I have recently been trying to play with SEO, a friend of mine has set-up a web site at www.Child-Nutrition.Us and Ihave been trying to work out ways to improve it’s ranking.
As I go through the process I am increasingly frustrated by the way in which SEO works and what you need to do to optimise.
This particular site is all about Childhood Obesity and Childhood Nutrition, and it would seem that previous attempts to build a site have been too much about trying to make the site interesting and not enough about SEO.
In order to make things work for SEO you need to have good internal optimisation, which seems to be about make sure your Keywords have a high enough density (ie you say them over and over, but without saying them too much). However, saying things over and over makes for boring reading.
To be clear, I also know that in order to get good SEO positioning you also need to work on Page Rank and I am trying to do that too.
It just seems to me that this whole SEO process is the most un-natural thing in the world, even though it’s supposed to be natural search. In fact its become so complicated that “natural search” has become almost un-natural.
Or am I missing something her?. Is it still possible for a new company with highly relevant information about a specific subject, like Childhood obesity, to set-up, register with search engines and begin to Get traffic.
Or Is the only way to do Natural Search, to be to have a degree in rocket science? Or SEO Science at least. Because if that is the case then the entire Google Search machine’s wheels have come off, in my opinion, and we are right back to where we used to be.
Admittedly I don’t have a degree in this but, by virtue of the Zulu principal, I feel that I am making progress and the deeper I get into it the more troubled I am.
