As a safety consultant in central america, I do enjoy as well a notelet from time to time. Even in these hard-boiled technology ammassed society, there are still very few people who cherish these details which drag our attention, such as a handwritten note. It`s personal, well received, and denotes a sense of tradition not lost even in this 21st Century! Very interesting! Congrats!

Thanks James, it’s a fair point. But the story is longer than that. They originally sent a note to my daughter when she flew with them in the summer. They had no idea who she is.

The note is genuine.

Maybe they sent you a letter, because they knew you have a company who deals with customer service. Those marketing weasels can not be underestimated.

Thanks for the input Barry,

There are some days when i am tweeting 2-3 times per hour.

The concept of linking to good content is a good one. But, i don’t have the time to do that, i read newspapers because i want them to synthesize what’s good. Not for me to have to do it.

Having said that, i will try harder.

Having perused your twitter account I can see why you’re not getting much out of it – you’re not putting much in yourself. I was sceptical about twitter too for a long time, until I started engaging other users and linking to good content. Over time you build a network and you get more out of it than you put in.

It’s probably worth noting that i heard from the company they made the following defence of themselves:

“one particular reason we address such correspondence private and confidential is because we try to ensure any literature in connection with our payroll service that we send to companies who aren’t currently using our services, is opened by the person within the company who would make such decisions. From a staffing perspective, outsourcing the payroll can potentially be a sensitive area, which we respect and understand company decision makers wouldn’t necessarily want in the public domain prior to any decisions around this area having been made.”

So they address it as P&C because they worry that it might cause offense. That’s nice.

The fact that more people open it is just a side benefit.
